Overview: Rosetta Stone
What a fantastic application, period. This application known as "Rosetta Stone" is a educational based program that teaches you multiple languages (31 different kinds, according to their main site). In this video I attempt to give the gist of Rosetta Stone. Major thanks goes to my friend Julia (whom owns the software) for allowing me to review it on her MacBook.
Rosetta Stone differs from other language learning programs (that I have personally seen or used) in what I think they call their "immersion" technique. This can be defined as by forcing you only to hear, speak and write the language that you are studying, and not see a translation to it. Personally it has helped me out tremendously, and often I find myself whilst not on my computer repeating phrases that I have learned from the application, which furthers my understanding
